As for Alex and I we have been doing pretty good. We have our ups and downs but what marriage doesn't? I love him with all my heart and want to be the best, supporting wife I can be. He is going through a lot right now with getting things straighted out with the VA. For those of you that don't know, the VA stands for Veteran Affairs. It is the organization the veterans who are out of the military go to for everything. It can be a struggle at times because Alex has been having a lot of problems with his back and knees. He is in pain every single day. Sometimes I wish I could take the pain a way from him just so I can see him happy. And I would do that for him if I could because I love him. I would like to take the burden of his physical and emotional pain a way from him.
Even though we have are struggles, just like everyone else. We have a great time together and I can't imagine my life with any other man. We just celebrated our 3 year anniversary February 17th. He was not in school that say and I took off work so we could spend the day together and it was fabulous. We went to Chesterfield mall, saw a movie and ate dinner at chick "fe" le...yes we went to a fast food restaurant but that is what we wanted. We were happy to simply be together. Our 1st anniversary Alex was in Iraq. We were together for our 2nd though he didn't turn our very well.
This past weekend was rather interesting. Friday my best friend Sarah came over and me, her and Alex went to Chesterfield to see Alice In Wonderland. It was very entertaining and I am glad that we went and saw it. Well on our way home we were following a Mercedes that was all over the road. We were following behind from one highway to the next. On the second high way it some how got behind us though sped up real fast and swerved over and hit a car on the right lane causing both cars to crash and go in to the ditch. We had to slam on our breaks since we were right behind it. Alex pulled over and ran over the the scene of the accident. There was only one person in each car. The lady in one car was in shock but was O.K and the man in the Mercedes was so drunk he wasn't making any sense. Alex stayed with the lady while I sat in our car. Sarah called 911 while I was in going in to a panic attack. I was so scared what Alex was going to see in the two cars when he walked up to him. He has seen enough in Iraq. Thank God no one got hurt or killed. We waited until the police got there so Alex could give a statement. Then we left. I still can not believe I witnessed a drunk driving accident. Me and Sarah watched the cops hand cuff the man and arrest him and that was a very good feeling. I felt safer knowing one imbecile who thinks it is O.K to drink and drive is put a way in jail. I just don't understand what can process someone to drink THAT MUCH and get behind a wheel and drive! This man wasn't just drunk, he was wasted out of his mind. It saddens me to think that people like him have killed innocent people. It is simple, if you do not have a designated driver, DONT DRINK. And if you end up drinking anyways with out a designated driver..call a cab and pick your car up the next day. But like I said, thank God everyone was okay and I hope that man learns his lesson while he pays the consequences with the law. Other than that it has been a nice relaxing weekend. The weather has been wonderful, I do not enjoy cold weather or the winter and I am looking forward for it to officially be spring.
Alex is still going to school full time and just got a part time job working security. For now we are living each day as it comes.
Us girls New Years Eve
